Brief Description: The Delhi Public Library is the first Central Library that was founded in 1951. The Library spans over an area of 5890 sq. mts. and offers a wide range of books in the English language as well as the Regional languages. The library comprises of Circulation Section for Adults, Reference Section, Children Section, Social Education Department, Extension Department and a Reading Room. It also features two Auditoriums named ‘Amir Khusro’ and ‘Geetanjali’ where Cultural events, Seminars, Debates, lectures, exhibitions and Conferences are organised to attract and encourage reading amongst children and people. It also lends books to members and provides a wide assortment of collection for reference purposes at no charge. The library also provides special services for children.
