Air Force Museum (IAF)

The Air Force Museum commonly known as the 'IAF Museum' or the 'Indian Air Force Museum', lies within the precincts of the operational and functional Palam Air Force Base Station that is just half an hour away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. It is also accessible by local transport and Metro Rail with Dwarka Sector-9 as the closest metro station. It reminds us of the glorious tradition and bravery of the Indian martyred Air Force leaders who sacrificed their lives for the safety of their Country be it the Battle for Kashmir in 1947, the 1962 Chinese Aggression, The Indo-Pak war in 1965 and 1971 or the recent Kargil war.

The Air Force Museum is a sheer delight for all aviation enthusiasts and a unique experience for anyone who visits the museum that allows them to take a tour through and into the world of the Air Force family. It is a tribute to all the Military services of India where the valour of these soldiers can be remembered and their named engraved for eternity under this dedicated shrine. The Museum exhibits a huge hanger and an annexe that homes an indoor gallery displaying a gamut of pictorial history and events including the Indian Air Force Uniforms and arms to the outdoor gallery that displays the original equipments, vehicles and aircrafts used by the Air Force during the epic battles and wars that occurred dating back from the World War I up till the recent Kargil War.

The IAF Museum welcomes all Tourists and visitors between 1000 hours and 1700 hours with no entry fee on all days except on all Mondays, Tuesdays and Gazetted Holidays.
