Delhi is all set for the upcoming MCD Elections, scheduled for 4 December 2022

As per the Election Commission, the 250-ward MCD elections will be held on 4 December 2022 and the result will be declared on 7 December 2022. 

Three  major parties, AAP, BJP and Congress will be competing against each other in the civic elections. 

Out of the total 250 wards, 42 seats have been reserved for the SC candidates, 21 seats for SC women candidates while the other 104 seats are reserved for women candidates. 

The number of independent candidates tops the list with a total of 507, followed by 492 from AAP, out of a total of 2,021 candidates. 

1.46 crore of the population is expected to cast their vote in the 250- ward civic election. 

A significant amount of police personnel and special forces will be deployed to ensure that the voters are able to cast their vote with ease

Election Commission has set up 42 counting centres across the capital  where training will also be imparted to the designated postal officers 

After consultation with EC, Delhi Police has appointed a DCP level officer as Nodal Officer to facilitate the smooth casting of votes in the capital.
