Brief Note: The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library or NMML is situated within the Teen Murti House and homes a specialized Library designed as an advanced research and reference centre. This Library houses a varied collection of books, photographs, journals, materials on microfiche and microfilm and is opened only to researchers and scholars at a very nominal membership fee. It showcases reference materials on social sciences with the main emphasis on modern Indian history and contemporary history too. It also has the biggest repository of newspapers and private paper collections of eminent individuals as well as non-official social and political organisations on microfilm rolls.
Currently, the Library offers more than 2, 50,000 printed books, 8,000 audio tapes and over 1, 50,000 photographs related to Nehru and the Indian freedom movement. It also homes published works on Jawaharlal Nehru, his writings and numerous collections of his speeches and correspondences including academic works relating to varied aspects of his life as a leader, politics and his thoughts. The private papers, newspapers and periodicals dating back to 1838 are stored on over 18,500 microfilm rolls while rare documents are stored in 50,000 microfiche plates.
